“गिरवी”, “पणयमकार” और “पणयमदार” की परिभाषा—
किसी ऋण के संदाय के लिए या किसी वचन के पालन के लिए प्रतिभूति के तौर पर माल का उपनिधान “गिरवी कहलाता है। उस दशा में उपनिधाता “पणयमकार कहलाता है। उपनिहिती “पणयमदार” कहलाता है।

““Pledge” “pawnor”, and “pawnee” defined”–
The bailment of goods as security for payment of a debt or performance of a promise is called “pledge”. The bailor is in this case called the “pawnor”. The bailee is called the “pawnee”.
