भारतीय संविदा अधिनियम की धारा 171 | Section 171 of Indian Contract act
[ Indian Contract act Sec. 171 in Hindi ] –
बैंकारों, फैक्टरों, घाटवालों, अटर्नियों और बीमा-दलालों का साधारण धारणाधिकार-
बैंकार, फैक्टर, घाटवाल, उच्च न्यायालय के अटर्नी और बीमा-दलाल अपने को उपनिहित किसी माल को, तत्प्रतिकूल संविदा के अभाव में समस्त लेखाओं की बाकी के लिए प्रतिभूति के रूप में प्रतिधृत रख सकेंगे, किन्तु अन्य किन्हीं भी व्यक्तियों को यह अधिकार नहीं है कि वे अपने को उपनिहित माल ऐसी बाकी के लिए प्रतिभूति के रूप में प्रतिधृत रखें जब तक कि उस प्रभाव की कोई अभिव्यक्त संविदा न हो।
धारा 171 Indian Contract act
[ Indian Contract act Sec. 171 in English ] –
“General lien of bankers, factors, wharfingers, attorneys and policy-brokers”–
Bankers, factors, wharfingers, attorneys of a High Court and policy-brokers may, in the absence of a contract to the contrary, retain as a security for a general balance of account, any goods bailed to them; but no other persons have a right to retain, as a security for such balance, goods bailed to them, unless there is an express contract to that effect1
