“अभिकर्ता” और “मालिक की परिभाषा-
अभिकर्ता वह व्यक्ति है जो किसी अन्य की ओर से कोई कार्य करने के लिए या पर-व्यक्तियों से व्यवहारों में किसी अन्य का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए, नियोजित है। वह व्यक्ति जिसके लिए ऐसा कार्य किया जाता है या जिसका इस प्रकार प्रतिनिधित्व किया जाता है “मालिक” कहलाता है।

““Agent” and “principal” defined”–
An “agent” is a person employed to do any act for another, or to represent another in dealings with third persons. The person for whom such act is done, or who is so represented, is called the “principal”.
