[ Ipc Sec. 489A ] हिंदी में –

करेन्सी नोटों या बैंक नोटों का कूटकरण-

जो कोई किसी करेन्सी नोट या बैंक नोट का कूटकरण करेगा, या जानते हुए करेन्सी नोट या बैंक नोट के कुटकरण की प्रक्रिया के किसी भाग को सम्पादित करेगा, वह आजीवन कारावास से, या दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि दस वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा ।

स्पष्टीकरण–इस धारा के और धारा 489ख, [489ग, 489 और 489ङ के प्रयोजनों के लिए “बैंक नोट पद से उसके वाहक को मांग पर धन देने के लिए ऐसा वचनपत्र या वचनबंध अभिप्रेत है, जो संसार के किसी भी भाग में बैंककारी करने वाले किसी व्यक्ति द्वारा प्रचालित किया गया हो. या किसी राज्य या संपूर्ण प्रभुत्व संपन्न शक्ति द्वारा या उसके प्रधिकार के अधीन प्रचालित किया गया हो और जो धन के समतुल्य या स्थानापन्न के रूप में उपयोग में लाए जाने के लिए आशयित हो ।

489A Ipc in Hindi

[ Ipc Sec. 489A ] अंग्रेजी में –

“ Counterfeiting currency-notes or bank-notes ”–

Whoever counter-feits, or knowingly performs any part of the process of counterfeiting, any currency-note or bank-note, shall be punished with 2[imprisonment for life], or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Explanation.—For the purposes of this section and of sections 489B, 3[489C, 489D and 489E], the expression “bank-note” means a promis­sory note or engagement for the payment of money to bearer on demand issued by any person carrying on the business of banking in any part of the world, or issued by or under the authority of any State or Sovereign Power, and intended to be used as equiva­lent to, or as a substitute for money.
